A major feature of the Stories in the Land project was outdoor workshops for schools with professional storytellers and artists. During the Travelling Tales section of the project, pupils not only learned the craft of storytelling
but also made bannocks and butter, foraged for wild foods, drank nettle
tea, lit fires with fire steels, made baskets and sang songs as the
drovers might have done in Scotland two hundred years ago!
The Stories in the Land project is supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund.
